About Permitely
Permitely, the site whose calculators are listed on the home page, is an independent publisher of free calculators and eligibility checkers for people making cross-border decisions: moving abroad for work, applying for residence or citizenship, weighing a residence-by-investment route, or working out how a move changes a tax position. The site is published by Permitely Editorial. We publish under that name rather than individual bylines, and we claim no professional credentials.
Who this is for
The tools are built for the moment before you commit time or money — when the question is still whether a route is open to you at all, what the decisive threshold is, and how far your own numbers sit from it. They cover immigration and citizenship eligibility, expatriate and nonresident tax exposure, residence-by-investment costs, end-of-service entitlements, and cross-border remittance costs.
Every calculator runs in your browser, as the privacy note describes in full. There is no account, no paywall and no signup, and the inputs you type are used to compute the result on your own device. Each tool states the thresholds it applies, and the official documents behind those thresholds are linked on the page, so a sourced figure can be checked at its source rather than taken on trust.
What Permitely is not
If a figure on any page looks wrong, the contact page is where a correction reaches us fastest. We are not a law firm, a tax practice, an accountancy, an immigration consultancy, a government agency or a marketplace, and we are not affiliated with any authority whose rules we describe. Nothing published here is legal, tax or immigration advice, and using the site creates no advisory relationship of any kind between you and Permitely Editorial.
The results are screening estimates. They do not file anything, reserve anything or decide anything, and they cannot account for the particulars of an individual case — prior residence, dual nationality, treaty positions, pending applications or the discretion an official may exercise. We do not review individual cases and we cannot tell you what to do in your situation. Before you act, confirm the position with the relevant authority or with a licensed professional in that jurisdiction.
How the content is made and checked
Pages are built from primary documents: statutes and regulations, official gazettes, the publishing agency's own pages, and official fee and threshold schedules. Press coverage and law-firm marketing pages are not used as the basis for a figure. The documents behind a page's figures are linked in its source block, and the weekly audit lists any page that carries no linked source.
Drafts are written with the help of AI tools. A figure we add or change is checked against the primary document. The weekly audit then flags figures it cannot find in the source, and we respond by finding the source, correcting the figure or removing it. Not every number on the site is a sourced one: some are values we compute ourselves — worked examples, a calculator's starting values, assumptions the page states as its own — and some are estimates of private costs that no official document sets, such as professional fees or how long a step takes in practice. Those are not checked against a source, because no source carries them.
Published pages are not left alone. An automated audit runs every week, re-reads the sources linked from each page and compares them with the numbers shown. When a number no longer matches its source, the page is corrected to the source. The full procedure, including what happens when a source stops carrying the value it was cited for, is set out in our editorial policy.
How Permitely is funded
The site is supported by advertising through Google AdSense. We carry no affiliate links at present; if we add one, it will be marked as such on the page that carries it. That is the whole of the business model: there is no subscription, and we do not sell the data you enter.
Funding never determines a result. Advertisers have no input into the thresholds a calculator applies, the order in which options appear, the wording of a page or what the weekly audit flags for correction. If a tool tells you a route is closed to you, it will keep telling you that whoever happens to be advertising next to it.
Corrections
If a threshold looks out of date or a result looks wrong, tell us at [email protected]. A report that points at a primary document is the one we can act on directly.
